From Portalegre, between the cork oak forests and chestnut groves of the S. Mamede mountain range, we pass through the Roman city of Ammaia and the beautiful ash trees tunnel in Aramenha to Marvão. Follow Castelo de Vide and the flatter part of the route, through the Povoa and Meadas reservoir, until we reach Nisa. In the last stage we will climb the S. Miguel mountain range to Portas de Rodão and the Tagus river. We finish in Vila Velha de Rodão with a "toast of honor". |
