Arbor Day - Buçaco
Celebrating Tree Day in the Buçaco Forest, in Luso, is to immerse oneself in a living sanctuary of biodiversity and history. We walk among habitats of native species such as the famous adernal, along historical trails and monumental gardens in this relict forest originally planted by the Discalced Carmelites. As the first certified Therapeutic Forest in the Iberian Peninsula, Buçaco offers the perfect setting to reconnect with nature and appreciate its unique botanical heritage.

Starting in the center of Luso, next to the St. John's fountain where we will fill our water bottles for this walk, we climb the Buçaco forest, entering through the valley of the ferns. We pass by the monumental trees and continue to the military museum, a testament to the French invasions, along with the obelisk, which we pass before entering the forest again through the Sula gate. We climbed up to the high cross, passing through the adernal and relic forest, we descend along the Stations of the Cross to the Coimbra gate and from there to the Palace Hotel and the convent of the Discalced Carmelites. Passing by the cold fountain, we return to the center of Luso and conclude our walk with a toast of honor
