Come with us on this hike in the Buçaco and celebrate the mountains and their international day. The high cross, in Buçaco, is a viewpoint that allows us to see some of the Portuguese mountain ranges and, in December, we might even see snow on the top of some of them. These are: Caramulo, Arada, Freita, Montemuro, Leomil, Lapa, Estrela, Açor, Lousã and Boa Viagem.

Starting in the center of Luso, next to the St. John's fountain where we will fill our water bottles, we climb the Buçaco forest, entering through the valley of the ferns. We pass by the monumental trees and continue to the military museum, a testament to the French invasions, along with the obelisk, which we pass before entering the forest again through the Sula gate. We climb to the high cross where, weather permitting, we will try to identify some of the Portuguese mountain ranges. Passing by the adernal and relic forest, we descend along the Stations of the Cross to the Coimbra gate and from there to the Palace Hotel and the convent of the Discalced Carmelites. Passing by the cold fountain, we return to the center of Luso and conclude our walk with a toast of honor.
