In Spain, the "Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos" takes place on the night of January 5th, with parades of the Three Wise Men (Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar), and the distribution of sweets thrown to the crowd, who gather to catch them. | On January 5th, the Three Wise Men return to the Eurocity Valença / Tui in a procession from the Valença fortress to the municipal theater in Tui. Gaspar, Balthazar, and Melchior will parade together with various local associations and local music bands and "charangas" that will provide the soundtrack for this journey. The Three Wise Men, their pages, and the entire entourage will distribute 1,500 kilos of sweets. At the end, we continue to the "waterfall of dreams" for a visit to this Christmas event that transforms the walkways of the Fojo waterfall, in the parish of Lara (Monção), into a magical Christmas route, with the natural waterfall, the centuries-old mills, and stalls selling local products (crafts and gastronomy). |
